The reason why this point is essential to this critique is tha t these job titles, both the ones associated with males and the ones associated with females, were altered around the same time that the role of women in the workplace started gaining more power. Women, whom these stereotypes had suppressed for a long time, stood up and fought for change, and achieved it. They had the male associated positions changed to â€Å"chairperson† and â€Å"salesperson†.... In addition, the women-associated job titles now stand replaced by more male-oriented titles such as â€Å"office manager† or â€Å"assistant manager† (Pringle, 1992, pp. 127-60). Even generic terms like â€Å"mankind† now stand replaced with less sexist words like â€Å"humankind†. This is an indicator of how women who seek power started by altering the communication strategies in the world around them, in both the workplace and otherwise. Thus, this supports the theory that communication strategies have a large bearing on the power that women possess in the workplace. Another important area in communication that affects the power that women have in the workplace is nonverbal communication. As researchers have found, even the difference in tones that women and men use often affects their power disparity in the workplace, regardless of the content of their speech. Due to the different roles men and women adopt in their lives, they often develop tones of sp eech accordingly. A man will more likely have a strong and confident voice whereas a woman will have a soothing and comforting tone (Willis, 1990, pp. 40-72). This difference makes it appear that the man is more capable of taking charge in the workplace, whereas the woman is more suited for a less power-oriented career. It would also explain why men are more likely to be trusted with managing and leading large workforces, while women are employed to work for them. This again supports the view that women need to alter their communication strategies if they wish to have more power in the workplace, even if it is their non-verbal communication. Rudi saved his life and now Winter wants him to climb the Citadel with him. Emil Saxo is a famous Swiss guide form the village of Broli. Primary Data: – The researchers collected primary data during the course of research period with the help of the questionnaire that was designed for the storekeepers to collect the information that was required to carry out the research. 2. Secondary Data: – Secondary data was collected from books, articles, Internet and previous research papers that had been conducted by the company representatives and officials. Tools and techniques of Analysis: Simple statistical tools and techniques like average, ratios, pie charts, tables and graphs in addition to hypothesis testing (z-test, for difference between proportions) & factor analysis method are used to analyze the data. Limitations of the Study: 1) The study was conducted in 45 days that is not enough for such a vast topic. 2) It was difficult for the storekeepers to pinpoint the sales of a particular brand in both organized and unorganized retail stores. 3) No proper data was available about the stores in the city. 4) There were not a big number of organized retail stores in Amravati to carry out the research more efficiently. 5) As the nature of research was exploratory so it was difficult to cover each and every retailer. 6) Many retailers don’t express their original perception and views because of biasness. ANALYSIS After Doing the PARLE Products Survey as the researchers analyzed that the best selling branded biscuit company offers its customers with large variety of biscuits (parle-g, krack-jack, 20-20, Monaco, hide and seek etc.), confectionaries (mangobite, melody, poppins). Margin war among th e major Brands| FINDINGS: After close study of the present market situation prevailing in the areas assigned the researchers, following are the observations. 1. Breakage problem in the Family packs of glucose biscuits is leading to the decline in sales in this category. 2. Schemes, Discounts, offers, coupons etc. are not reaching to the retailers and customers whereas Britannia and ITC on the other hand are doing that. 3. Retailers and even wholesalers is satisfied with the supply system of Parle. 4. It was found that Parle (especially Parle- glucose) is most favored brand and is sold most. Parle biscuits are the retailers and consumers prime choice. 5. Very little range of Parle biscuits were visible in organized retail outlets. 6. Britannia is emerging as Major Competitor in the organized & unorganized retail outlets. RECOMMENDATIONS & SUGGESTIONS: 1. Company should start a program for the loyal retailers and wholesalers to reduce their complaints by providing timely supply and replacement. This will help in increasing their sales. 2. The packaging of Parle Glucose biscuits (1/2 and 1 kilogram packs) must be improved for its better sales. The company should come up with double packaging as people refuse to buy family pack biscuits with loose packaging. 3. Salesmen should be properly dressed and should have good communication skills to effectively promote the new products recently launched, by making sure that the product reaches each and every retailer and also increase the visibility of the products by arranging the product clearly on the shelf or rack and show its prominence. 4. To increase the number of stock keeping units {SKU} available in the retailers store. Each salesman should stress the retailers to keep the maximum SKUs and to maintain these SKUs throughout. With this, the replacement of the damaged and expired biscuits should be prompt and without any hassles, so that retailer can be save d from the loss of the expired and damaged goods. 5. The company should take proper measures that the schemes and offers are not gulped by the middlemen, and that it benefits the retailers and customers. CONCLUSION: After conducting the survey on 470 unorganized retailers, 10 organized retailers and 4 Distributors, the researchers found that there is a bigger market for biscuits and Confessionary in unorganized retail stores if proper supply of goods without breakage is there. It was also concluded that Parle is the first preference of both the customers and retailers (Organized and unorganized both) because of its price and brand image. Brand Parle G dominates the volume-dominated biscuit market. Even in today’s times when multinationals are beefing up their operations and trying to change the dynamics of the market, Parle G’s numbers & Quality position is unchallenged. Its competitors have roped in superstars like King Khan and Sachin Tendulkar, but Parle G has only gone from strength to strength. Brand Parle G is iconic and has evolved over the years. Trust, relevance, affordability are its hallmarks, which have withstood pressures from the hyper-competitive marketplace. Book of Sand Essay

1.The book had affected the narrator to a great extent. At first he did not care for the book, until the stranger selling Bibles said â€Å"the number of pages in this book is literally infinite. No page is the first page; no page is the last†. This intrigued the narrator’s mind. After he had bought the book, he began investigating. He noted down things in the book. He began losing sleep from the investigation and when he actually got sleep, his dreams were about the book. As it states in the short story, â€Å"At night, during the rare intervals spared me by insomnia, I dreamed of the book†. He had grown an obsession with the book, which altered his lifestyle and forced him to hide the book in the library. 2.The literary device that the author uses to compare the book and himself to was a metaphor. When the narrator said, â€Å"it was cold consolation to think that I, who looked upon it with my eye and fondled it with my ten flesh-and-bone fingers, was no less monstrous than the book†, this proved that he was comparing himself to the monstrous book. The meaning and significance of this metaphor states that he was no different from the book. His mind was now as dense and endless. The book carried infinite secrets and toyed with its readers. As it stated in the short story, â€Å"I felt it was a nightmare thing, an obscene thing, and that it defiled and corrupted reality†. The narrator felt that the deadly secrets that emanated from the book were all getting to his head. His fear of infinite evil caused him to hide the demonic book and run away from the eternal thoughts. 3.In the short story, â€Å"The Book of Sand† by Jorge Luis Borges, the narrator states that he had become a â€Å"prisoner of the book†. This is evidently shown when he obsessively investigates the book. He barely slept because all he could think about was the book, and he barely left his house. As it’s shown, â€Å"I had but few friends left, and those I stopped seeing. A prisoner of the book, I hardly left my house†. He became isolated and trapped in the secrets and mystery of the book. 4.The salesman’s previous warning to the narrator about the book as he stated, â€Å"Look at it well. You will never see it again†, had come true in this short story. The book was infinite, full of endless amounts of illustrations and had no beginning or end. When the narrator said, â€Å"They never repeated themselves†, this proved that it was impossible for anyone to revisit the same page. Therefore the salesman’s previous warning had come true. 5.The author of the short story, Jorge Luis Borges, illustrates the idea of giving up the things we should have valued but instead take for granted for the sole purpose of pleasing one’s obsession to obtain things that will end up destroying humanity regardless of the fulfillment of curiosity. In the beginning, the narrator didn’t seem to care about The Book of Sand. It was not until the salesman had said that it had infinite pages that caught the attention of the narrator. He now wanted the book and would pay a great amount for it. When the narrator offered a trade, â€Å"I will offer you the full sum of my pension. . . and Wyclif’s black-letter Bible†, it proved that he would give up his valuables to get a hold of that book, which little did he know would actually destroy him. He grew an obsession for the book. As it states in the story, â€Å"At night, during the rare intervals spared me by insomnia, I dreamed of the book†. This provides evidence of the fact that he had been so extremely fixated on the diabolical book that even when his body was asleep, his mind was still obsessing over it. When he realizes the mistake he made, giving into his curiosity, he decides to get rid of the monstrous book. However at this point he had already lost his friends and the things he valued. The book had taken up a great extent of his time that could not be taken back, because unlike The Book of Sand, his life was not infinite. 6.The literary device used is a metaphor. I think this because when the narrator says â€Å"the best place to hide a leaf is in the forest†, he is referring to a way to hide The Book of Sand. At first he considered destroying the evil thing. Although he thought that the â€Å"burning of an infinite book might be similarly infinite, and suffocate the planet in smoke†. Therefore he thought to hide the book in plain sight. Hiding a leaf in the forest is like hiding a book in a library. He hid the book on one of the library’s damp shelves in the basement and tried not to notice where exactly he put it. He did this so he and anyone else wouldn’t be able to find the monstrous book. He didn’t want to be a â€Å"prisoner of the book† anymore. The book had ruined his life and took away time, the most precious thing we have in life. He didn’t want to be trapped by the isolation of the book and so he hid it where it could never be found.

dog essays I recently visited one of the local service stations with my class. This was part of our Dealership Fixed Operation course. Our class was accompanied by Col. Sekhon, our Dealership Fixed Operation teacher and Mr. Harmeet Bhullar our automotive technology teacher. Whole class was exited and looking forward to this visit. I especially wanted to see practically what all happens and how at the dealership. This time we visited the Joshi Auto Zone service station, C-117, Phase VII. This service station exclusively deals in MARUTI Manufactured automobiles. At entrance we saw suggestion box along with the name of different personnel ¡s there for the customer. The timings were mentioned there too. There we were greeted the service supervisor Mr. Rajeev. We were divided into two groups and taken around dealership. First Mr. Rajeev showed us the job card and explained it. What work and when to be done on the vehicle is written on the Job card ,also noting of information of vehicle like VIN n o etc are jotted on this when customer brings his/her vehicle to the dealership. On request he gave some of us copy of job card, which was really nice on his part. Then on inquiring we came to know that 20 to 30 vehicles are serviced here daily. 150 to 200 vehicles come for accidental repairs monthly and are mostly weather oriented. Most of the cars which get serviced here were Maruti 800 and Maruti ZEN. Then we were taken inside the service station where there were 18 bays-9 in body shop and 9 in work station. There are two teams of 7 mechanics each at body shop and service station. Two mechanics on an average are stationed on each bay or more depending on the work done on vehicle. Each bay consisted of a forklift, tool box, accessories an air pressure gauge. At first bay we say a Maruti ZEN getting its axle-boot changed.
